Casselberry, FL

Casselberry, located in south Seminole County, is part of the Orlando Metro Area. According to the 2010 Census, Casselberry is home to over 26,200 residents. The town was named for Hibbard Casselberry, who visited nearby Winter Park in 1926. His establishment was originally called Fern Park, named for the many ferns growing in the area. Casselberry would spend the next 14 years growing his fern and real estate enterprises. In 1940, Casselberry convinced the residents of Fern Park that to avoid property taxes, they would need to incorporate their own tax-free town.

Today, Casselberry is home to 17 parks, ranging from large recreational centers to small neighborhood parks. It also houses the Seminole Speedway, which was built in 1945 and was the site of stock car, modified, and motorcycle races. The Speedway discontinued operations in 1954.
